Packing Reform 101

Thursday, July 05, 2012

I swore to reform my packing methods, and my makeup bag is one of the worst offenders. This trip (to Nantucket), I'm going back to basics. I might go through a little bit of product withdrawal, but how many skincare products and different kinds of makeup do you REALLY need on vacation? If I look like crap in my photos, I guess we'll know why... but here's to at least attempting to give it a try. As for my makeup basics, #1 on my list is probably Anthelios sunscreen in 50+. Living between LA and Texas, I take wearing sunscreen pretty seriously - wrinkles and sunspots can stay the hell away from me, thank you very much. For the face, Bobbi Brown's Touch Up Stick is all I need to cover all the not-so-attractive "flaws", and Nars bronzer in Laguna and Bobbi Brown blush in Nectar work wonders on the complexion with just a quick sweep of each. For the eyes, Guerlain Eye Kohl is a miracle worker, and just a few swipes of Dior mascara is dramatic without being too over the top. I usually like to keep it pretty simple with Mac eyeshadow in Naked Lunch, and finish the look off with Dior Addict  Lip Glow. The look is natural, but pretty. When I'm on vacation, it's just better to keep it simple.
