Fried Pumpkin Bread

Friday, October 26, 2012

When you're from Texas, you're born and raised knowing pretty much everything tastes better fried with butter. Living in the LA with all the health nuts, sometimes I forget not everything knows this little fact - and I think it's time I gave them a little education. Halloween is right around the corner and we're officially in fall, which means pumpkin everything is what everyone wants to eat. Pumpkin bread is pretty easy to make (and even easier to buy), and tastes best the way we do it in my house. I take individual slices of pumpkin bread and fry them in a skillet with butter. The results are so ridiculously tasty you'll never want to go back to your way again. To make your fried pumpkin bread just a touch more amazing, top it with a sweet butter (apple, honey, pumpkin, whatever you have) and you have a fried, delicious little piece of pumpkin heaven. Most of my LA friends would say frying bread is a crime and totally unnecessary - that's just because they haven't tried it yet. Trust me... we Texans know our bread and butter, and this one is a winner. Happy weekend!
